David Lamelas: Film and video screenings with the artist
Thursday 16 June 2011, 8pm

Raven Row held a special screening of David Lamelas’ 16mm films and a selection of videos.

Following a talk by curator Sacha Craddock at Bloomberg SPACE at 6.30pm, an 8pm screening of two Lamelas films took place at Raven Row and were introduced by the artist. To Pour Milk Into A Glass (1972, 8 minutes) explores Lamelas' interest in structure, seriality and difference, and The Desert People (1974, 48 minutes) is the first work made by Lamelas in Los Angeles, in which he blurs the boundary between the filmic languages of documentary and fiction.

These events were organised by curator Vanessa Desclaux in conjunction with David Lamelas’ solo show at Bloomberg SPACE, exploring anew his work Connection of three spaces, initially made in 1966 at the Instituto di Tella in Buenos Aires.
