Discursive Art Practice in the Wake of APG
Monday 8 October 2012, 6.30pm

APG emerged at a time, the turn of the 1970s, when speech (or more loosely, discourse) was starting to be recognised as an art medium in its own right. Since then, dialogic exchange in/as art has only increased in prominence, to the point of becoming a fixture in contemporary art spaces. This session will look at APG's pioneering use of the roundtable discussion, and assess its relevance to contemporary discursive art practices.

In the spirit of APG's Sculpture – the table at which APG members spoke with industrialists and politicians from 1971 onwards – Raven Row is programming a series of public discussions over the course of the exhibition, of which this is the second.
